New Instagram and Facebook Reels metrics in Sprout
Sprout now surfaces five new metrics for Instagram and Facebook Reels content, available in the Post Performance Report and six widgets.
Reels Skip Rate measures the percentage of viewers who skipped a Reel within the first 3 seconds. A high skip rate is a signal that the opening hook isn't landing. This metric applies to Reels only.
Repost Count tracks how many times a post was reposted by other users. Reposts roll into Shares, which counts toward total Engagements — so you may notice your engagement numbers shift on Instagram posts going forward.
Crossposted Reels Views shows the combined view count across Instagram and Facebook for Reels that were crossposted to Facebook. Posts that weren't crossposted will show N/A.
Facebook Reels Views breaks out the view count specifically on Facebook for crossposted Reels. Also shows N/A for Reels published to Instagram only.
Post Clicks for Facebook Reels shows the total clicks on a Facebook Reel, split into Link Clicks and Other Post Clicks. Full support begins January 1, 2026.
All five metrics are available in the Post Performance Report, Post Performance widget, Post Summary, Post Analysis, Tag Posts Summary, Engagements by Tag, and Tag Performance widgets. Historical data is available back to January 1, 2026. Learn more here!

You can now use the new "Contains" condition, allowing rules to trigger even when content types like images, links, or emojis appear alongside text. Plus, we've added support for video, so you can now automate actions for messages that include video attachments. Scale your automation more effectively and reduce the need for manual intervention!

Instagram Trial Reels
Introducing Trial Reels for Instagram!
Teams can now use Sprout to publish Instagram Reels as a "Trial Reel." This feature lets users test content by showing it only to non-followers to gauge performance. If it performs well, Sprout can automatically "graduate" the Reel after 72 hours, sharing it with your existing followers and adding it to your main grid. Start optimizing your Instagram strategy today! To learn more about Trial Reels, you can also check out Meta’s blog here.
