What X message types appear in Sprout and what actions can I take?
The following X message types appear in the Smart Inbox. For these message types, you can respond and take additional actions.
- Network: The social media network
- Message Type: The type of message listed
- Available in Inbox: The message type that appears in the Smart Inbox. If this is checked, Sprout expects to receive that message type. If this is marked with the symbol, Sprout doesn’t expect to receive the message type.
- Update Schedule: How often Sprout updates data and the kind of data updated.
- Backfill: How far back Sprout can provide data upon profile connection.

In addition to Sprout's message actions available across networks, there are several X-specific message actions that are available by clicking the three-dot overflow menu:
You can repost messages from any of your linked X profiles. To repost a message:
- Click the three-dot overflow menu.
- Click Retweet.
Select the profile you'd like to use. Your retweet will immediately post to your profile.
If you want to amplify a Post with your own message, you can quote Post the post. To quote Post:
- Click the three-dot overflow menu.
- Click Quote Tweet. The Compose opens.
- Select the X profile you’d like to use.
- Add any text.
- (Optional) Select any publishing workflows, Labels or Campaigns you'd like to use.
- Select the time you'd like to send your post.
- Click Send or Schedule.
Hide on X
You can hide X @mention replies directly from the Smart Inbox. This ensures you can protect your audience and brand image by eliminating spam and insensitive content from your X feed. Just like your reply action, click for the @mention reply and then click Hide on Twitter.
You only see the option to Hide on Twitter for @replies to your Post. After you hide the @reply, a banner appears on the message letting you know it was hidden. Click unhide on the banner to show the reply again.
Complete All Quote Posts
You can Complete All Quote Posts directly from the Smart Inbox or when replying to a message. You'd want to complete all Quote Tweets when a Post comes into your Smart Inbox that isn't relevant to any of your Brand Keywords. You can complete Quote Posts up to 1,000 messages at a time. If there are more than 1,000 irrelevant messages in your Smart Inbox, perform the Complete All Quote Tweets action again until they're gone. This functionality will only complete current Quote Tweets in your Inbox, and doesn't automatically complete future Quote Tweets.
From the Smart Inbox, click the overflow menu and then click Complete All Quote Tweets.
When replying to a message directly, open the original message, click the overflow menu and then click Complete All Quote Tweets from the individual message.
