How do I schedule Instagram Stories?
Tackle your Instagram strategy from end-to-end using Sprout’s Instagram Story Scheduling workflow. Whether you create your Story on desktop or on the fly in Sprout’s iOS app, you can choose your images, add Story Notes and even Link Stickers to complete your Story.

How do I schedule a Story on desktop?
To schedule an Instagram Story using Sprout’s desktop version:
- Open Compose.
- Select the Instagram profile you want to post a Story to from the Profile Picker. You can only select one Instagram profile.

Toggle This is a story on.
- Click to add images or videos.
- Choose media from your desktop, Bynder, Canva, Dropbox or Google Drive.
- Choose a single photo or video (up to 2 minutes 30 seconds) to add as the Story.
- Video Extensions: .mp4, .mov, Max File Size: 650 MB, Max Length: 2.5 minutes
- Image Extensions: .jpg, .png, Max File Size: 20 MiB
- (Optional) Select an Approval Workflow in the Publishing Workflows section.

Select the date and time you want to post the Story. Or create a Draft, Queue the Story or Send it right away.
- Click Schedule or Submit. Your Story is scheduled and appears on the Publishing Calendar.
How do I schedule a Story on the iOS app?
To schedule an Instagram Story using the iOS mobile app:
- Tap Compose.
- Select the Instagram profile you want to post a Story to from the Profile Picker. You can only select one Instagram profile.

Toggle This is a Story on.
- Choose media from your iOS device or Asset Library.
- Tap up to 10 media items (photos and/or videos) to add as the Story.
- Video Extensions: .mp4, .mov, Max File Size: 650 MB, Max Length: 2.5 minutes
- Image Extensions: .jpg, .png, Max File Size: 20 MiB
- Tap Done.
- Add Mobile Publisher Notes and/or a Link Sticker URL for each Story frame.

Story notes and texts are available to copy to your clipboard when you post.
- Tap Notify.
- Select the date and time you want to post the Story. Or create a Draft, Queue the Story or Send it right away.
- Tap Save. Your Story is scheduled and appears in the Publishing Calendar.
