How do I connect my Snapchat Profile in Sprout?

Establishing a Snapchat Public Profile connection in Sprout unlocks the ability to schedule and publish Story and Spotlight posts to your brand's Public Profile directly from your Sprout Calendar! 

Prerequisites for a Snapchat Connection

  1. To establish a Snapchat connection in Sprout, you need a Snapchat Public Profile. Personal Snapchat accounts are not supported at at this time.
  2. The user connecting the profile in Sprout will need the direct login credentials (username + password) for each Public Profile you are looking to connect. 
    • The option to authorize a connection via Snapchat Business Account admin permissions is not supported at this time. 
  3. The user connecting in Sprout will need the Manage Profiles permission within their assigned Sprout Company Permissions

Connecting your Snapchat Profile in Sprout 

To begin this process, you will want to ensure you are logged out of any personal Snapchat profiles on your browser. If your organization manages multiple Public Profiles within a single Snapchat Business Account, you will need to log in to each Public Profile separately to establish each connection in Sprout. 

To connect in Sprout: 

  1. Click Connect a Profile from your username.
  2. Select the Group you want to add the profile to from the In Group dropdown.
  3. Click Go to Snapchat 
  4. Once you are sent to Snapchat, ensure the profile listed matches your Public Profile name
    • If you are seeing your own username, this indicates you may be logged in with a Personal Profile and will need to logout before proceeding with the connection steps in Sprout.
  5. If you are seeing your intended Public Profile listed, click Continue
  6. Complete next steps with adding your profile to your intended Group in Sprout and assign permissions to users as needed.

Q: I am listed as an admin for the Public Profile in our Snapchat Business Account, why does this profile not appear in Sprout when I attempt to connect? 

A: In order to connect the Snapchat Public Profile in Sprout, you will need the direct login credentials (username + password) for the Public Profile you are looking to connect. The option to connect using Business Account admin credentials is not supported at this time. If you are seeing your own username listed during the connection steps in Sprout, you will need to logout of this profile in Snapchat before and start the connection process again in Sprout.
