Using the Trellis Performance & Engagement Agent

Trellis Studio and Trellis Insights Agent are currently available to a select group of customers as part of a limited release.
Access Requirements
- Professional plan or above
- OpenAI/GenAI toggle ON in Admin Settings
- User has appropriate permissions
- For customers without Listening, the Performance and Engagement is the only available agent
Trellis Performance & Engagement Expansion is a cross-domain AI assistant that helps teams quickly extract insights across the broader Sprout portfolio. While the Listening Agent is scoped to Listening data only, the Insights Agent can combine data from multiple domains (Publishing, Inbox, Listening, Reporting, and Care) to produce richer, cross-channel insights.
Performance & Engagement speeds up insights by letting users ask natural-language questions like "What types of posts performed best last month?" or "Why did engagement drop on LinkedIn?" and get contextual answers immediately.
Key Capabilities
Performance & Engagement helps users in five key ways:
- Uncover themes, patterns, and performance drivers across content
- Drill into engagement data, examples, and causal analysis
- Explore and compare performance across networks, campaigns, or time periods
- Receive AI-driven recommendations on how to improve
- Brainstorm content ideas and transfer drafts directly to Compose with the Compose Integration
Which Trellis feature am I using?
Trellis is evolving from a single agent to a multi-agent platform. Interactions are determined by your location in the app:
- In Listening → you’re using the Listening Agent (Brand & Audience Intelligence)
- Anywhere else → you’re using the Performance & Engagement Agent
Users with access to both can toggle between modes before starting a chat. A thread is locked to one agent, switching modes starts a new chat.
Compose Integration
Trellis Performance & Engagement lets you generate content ideas with Trellis and send them directly to Compose as a draft.
