What types of posts can I publish to Instagram using Sprout?

Supported post types (can be published directly from Sprout):

• Single image posts
• Video posts
• Instagram Reels
• Carousels (mixed media posts with up to 10 images or one minute videos)
• Instagram Stories (without story notes)

Posts that require Sprout's mobile app:

• Instagram Stories (editing): If you wish to edit the Story to add other effects such as story notes or stickers, you’ll be required to select a mobile publisher. 
  
  You'll receive a mobile notification through the Sprout Social mobile app to complete publishing.
• Reels that contain music/sounds from Instagram’s sound library: You’ll be required to select a mobile publisher.
• Creator Profiles Posts: You’ll be required to select a mobile publisher.
• Posts outside the required parameters: If size or ratio falls outside the recommended limits, you will be required to select a mobile publisher.

Unsupported post types:

• Instagram Live videos: These must be created directly on Instagram.
• Polls: Instagram does not support third-party polling features.
• PDF uploads: Instagram does not support PDF file formats.

Unsupported post types:

• TikTok Stories: Not supported via Sprout desktop.

Yes, Sprout supports scheduling Instagram carousel posts with multiple images (up to 10). These can be published directly from the web app without needing a mobile device

Does Sprout support TikTok videos?

Yes, if you’re using a TikTok Business Account, you can publish videos directly from Sprout.

Can I put a first comment on other social networks (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn), and not just Instagram?

Can I make a carousel post for LinkedIn by uploading a document as an image?

At this time, Sprout does not currently support document uploads (like PDFs) to LinkedIn. We recommend transitioning the PDF into supported image formats, then utilize those to publish a multiple image post.

I can't seem to create a poll when posting on Instagram via Sprout but I can do it in the Instagram app. Why is that?

Sprout does not currently support Instagram poll posts due to API limitations. These will have to be published directly via the Instagram app.

Why can I only add 10 images to Instagram in Sprout, but I can upload 20 on Instagram directly?

At this time, Sprout supports scheduling Instagram carousel posts with up to 10 images due to API limitations, despite Instagram users being able to publish carousel posts with up to 20 images on the Instagram app.

Can I post X (formerly Twitter) threads to X using Sprout?
No, Sprout does not currently support scheduling X threads.
