How to set custom date ranges on individual widgets in My Reports

Table of Contents

Overview

By default, every widget within a report created in My Reports will follow the date range set at the top of the report. Widget-level date range overrides let you give a single widget its own date range and optional comparison period, while allowing other widgets to continue following the report-level date range.

This feature lets you mix time frames in one report, such as pinning a campaign widget to the campaign's run dates next to widgets that roll forward each month, without splitting your report or re-selecting dates by hand. Overrides are optional, and existing reports will not change unless you add one.

What you can do

  • You can set a date range override with an optional comparison period on any widget in My Reports. Every widget's configuration menu now includes an Edit Date Range option at the top of the menu.
  • You can quickly see which widgets have their own date range. Look for the blue date range indicator on the widget, the date summary at the top of the widget's configuration menu, or the note in the report-level date picker telling you that overrides exist in the report.
  • You can remove an override from one widget, or remove every override in a report at once from the report-level date picker.
  • You can share and export reports that use overrides. Shared Links and PDF exports show the date token on each widget with an override, and the Shared Link header or PDF cover page lists how many widgets use overrides.
  • You can use 10 date presets in the date picker (including last quarter, last year, week to date, month to date, quarter to date and year to date), plus a new Recents section that remembers your last five custom date ranges.

How to Set a Date Range Override on a Widget

Open your report within My Reports. Open the configuration menu on the widget you want to change and select Edit Date Range at the top of the menu.

In the date range window, choose your primary date range and, if you want one, a comparison period.

Click Override to apply the date range to that widget only. A blue date range indicator now appears on the widget, and the rest of your report keeps following the report-level date range.

How to Edit or Remove the Date Range on a Widget

Open the widget's configuration menu and click Edit in the date summary at the top of the menu.

Pick a new date range and click Override to update it.

To remove it instead, click Remove Override in the bottom left corner of the window, then click Remove to confirm. The widget goes back to following the current report-level date range.

How to Remove all Date Range Overrides in a Report

Open the report-level date picker at the top of your report. In the footer, you can see the count of widgets within the report that use overrides. Click Remove all date overrides at the bottom of the picker, then click Remove to confirm. Every widget in the report will follow the report-level date range again.

How to Use "Recents" in the Preset Date Range Selector

When you choose a custom start and end date and then apply or close the date picker, that range is saved to the Recents section at the bottom of the dropdown. The primary date range and the comparison period each keep their own list of recents. Presets are not saved to Recents.
