Picture this: you just spent an hour crafting the perfect graphic, and half your audience scrolls right past because screen readers can't read an image. Yikes. Accessibility isn't just a nice-to-have. It's how you make sure everyone experiences your brand, while also giving SEO a sneaky little boost. Writing image descriptions for every post can take time, but in Sprout Social, you don't have to do that.

Hi everyone, this is JL. I'm excited to walk you through how to add alt text to your social media images faster using AI in this Sprout Bites video.

Method number one is right inside your compose window. Upload your photo and hover over the bottom section where it says Add alt text. Click on it, and then generate a description of the picture using AI Assist. Before you even save, remember that you're in complete control. If you don't love the first draft, click Regenerate for a fresh take. If you're publishing a global campaign, you can even use Translate to convert the alt text into a different language. If it looks great, hit Save and you're good to go.

Now, if you prefer to prepare your media ahead of time, locate your asset library in Publishing. From here, you'll find the different folders where you've saved your images. Locate the picture you want, and look for the indicator that shows whether a picture already has alt text. This one doesn't, so we'll use this one. Click View Asset. From there, the steps are similar: generate the alt text with AI Assist, regenerate if you want other suggestions, and translate if needed. Adding alt text here means that every time you or your teammates use this asset in the future, the alt text is already attached and ready to roll.

So whether you're composing on the fly or organizing your library, making your content accessible is just a few clicks away. And that's how you save time, boost your SEO, and make sure no follower gets left behind.
