If you've ever wondered whether you're posting too much, not enough, or missing opportunities across your social channels, the Publishing Calendar can help you spot patterns, identify gaps, and keep your content strategy on track. Hi, my name is Danielle, and I'm excited to walk you through the Publishing Calendar in this Sprout Bites video.

The Publishing Calendar is your go-to location in Sprout for content planning. It gives you a view of everything that's scheduled, so you can quickly understand what's up and coming across your social profiles.

You can easily switch between List View, Week View, and Month View, depending on how you prefer to plan your content. List View provides a simple chronological view of scheduled posts, while Week View helps you focus on how content is distributed throughout a specific week. But my favorite is Month View — it gives you a high-level look at your overall content strategy and makes it easy to spot patterns and gaps before they become a problem. It also gives you a quick glance to see where your schedule is packed, where you may need additional content, and whether your publishing cadence is aligned with your goals.

At the top of the Publishing Calendar, you'll also find filters to help you focus on specific profiles. This lets you filter by the different social networks you have connected, by post type, and by campaigns and tags. If you're managing campaigns, the calendar gives you a quick way to see how campaigns are distributed across your schedule, which helps you ensure your messaging is balanced and aligned before posts go live.

Another helpful feature is notes. You can add notes directly to your calendar to map out future content ideas, campaign milestones, product launches, or key events before creating posts. It's a simple way to plan out your content, stay organized, and ensure the content remains aligned with your overall social strategy — you can see I have a couple of notes here on my calendar.

Before content reaches your audience, the Publishing Calendar gives you one final opportunity to make sure everything is organized, balanced, and ready to go. We even have a feature where you can download your calendar as a PDF, just in case you're working on social strategies with others on your team.

The next time you're planning content, take a few minutes to review your calendar. You may be surprised by the patterns and opportunities you uncover. Thanks for watching, and happy publishing.
