Using the Canva Integration in Sprout Social | Sprout Bites

Table of Contents

In this Sprout Bites video, you will learn how to use the Canva integration in Sprout Social to eliminate the extra steps of downloading and re-uploading assets. You will see how to pull your entire Canva library directly into the Sprout Compose window, and how to push a design from Canva straight to Sprout's publishing calendar as a draft post — all without leaving either app.

If you've ever downloaded an asset from Canva just to turn around and upload it back to Sprout, there's a better way. Hey, I'm Paige Britain and I'm excited to walk you through our Canva integration in this Sprout Bites video. When you're scheduling a social post in Sprout Publishing, open the Compose window and set up your post as you normally would. I'll add my caption and schedule a first comment to direct my audience to the right URL, then set the date and use Optimal Send Time to reach my audience when they're most engaged. The only thing left is to add an image or video. I'll click Upload Media and look for the Canva integration. Instead of jumping over to Canva, downloading an asset to my desktop, and then coming back to Sprout to re-upload it, I can use the Canva integration right here in Compose. It pulls in your entire Canva library — images, videos, all of it. I'll select the video I want and click Import from Canva, and it drops right into my post. What used to take four steps now takes one. Speaking of cutting out extra steps, there's also a second way to move from design to done faster using the Canva app integration. First, make sure you've connected Sprout to Canva by going to the App Library within Canva and searching for Sprout Social. Once your design is ready to share, click See All, scroll to the bottom, and look for the Sprout Social icon. A window will pop up where you can enter post details and send the design directly to Sprout's publishing calendar as a social-ready draft post. Select your group, choose which profiles to publish to, enter your caption, choose your scheduled date, and add a tag so your social team can report on the campaign. Once you click Upload to Sprout, within seconds the post is sent to Sprout as a draft — showing up in both your publishing calendar and your drafts folder, one step away from going live. Whether you're pulling Canva assets into Sprout Compose or pushing social-ready draft posts to Sprout's publishing calendar, your path to publishing can be a whole lot faster using these two integrations. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
