Hi all, my name is Niamh and I'm excited to walk you through how to use custom post variables in this Sprout Bites video. If you're managing multiple profiles, this is going to save you so much time — it lets you automatically drop specific bits of content into your posts without having to type them out every time. Let me show you how to quickly set up a custom post variable. Go to your Settings, scroll down to Publishing, look for Custom Post Variables, and create a new one. I'm going to start with location. I'll click Save, and here are all the profiles available in my group. For my Facebook page I'll set the location to Dublin, for Instagram I'll use America, and for LinkedIn I'll use Spain. Next, I'll create another post variable — this time for website. I'll type in website, press Save, and assign a different website URL to each profile: one for Facebook, one for Instagram, and one for LinkedIn. Now my custom variables are all set up and ready to go. When I go to Compose and start writing a post — for example, "Check out our new store" — I can insert the location variable and you'll see it automatically shows Dublin for Facebook, America for Instagram, and Spain for LinkedIn. I can then add the website variable to the post as well, and each profile will display its own unique URL. Try it out the next time you're organizing your posts.
