Hi, my name is Becky and I'm excited to walk you through updating your account owner in this Sprout Bites video. Whether you're preparing to move to your next role or you need to hand over the keys to another Sprout user, this video will walk you through the steps to make updating your organization's Sprout account owner a seamless experience. The first step is to make sure you're logged into your Sprout account as the current account owner. Once logged in, navigate to Settings. This next step may look a bit different depending on your plan level. If you're on the Standard or Professional plan, you'll see this listed under Account and then Team Members. In this example, I'm using the Advanced plan and have access to the Roles feature, so I'll click Roles and Team Members and navigate to the Teams and Members tab. I'm currently logged in as the account owner, Rebecca, and I'm going to transfer ownership to my colleague, Becky. I'll click the edit pencil next to Becky's name and then click Make Account Owner. A popup will appear asking me to confirm the switch and providing a quick overview of what will change. Once I click the Change Account Owner button, the transfer is complete and Becky will be the new account owner. If I'm leaving the organization, Becky can then remove me as a user, freeing up a user seat so a new user can be invited to the account. If you need to transfer ownership to someone who isn't already a user on the account, or if you're working from an account with only one user, you'll want to reach out to Sprout Support to make this update and ensure the security of your account. To contact Sprout Support, click the Help button — the question mark icon — and start a new conversation with our team. You can type your message directly or go through our connection flow. I'd recommend selecting Account Management as your option, then provide a short description of what you're looking to accomplish and note that you'd like to connect with a live agent. You can also email our support team at support@sproutsocial.com — just make sure you're emailing from the same address you use to log into your account. I hope this information proves helpful. Be sure to bookmark it for the next time you need to make a switch, and in the meantime, happy sprouting.
