My name is Ashley and I'm providing you with a Smart Inbox overview in this Sprout Bites video. When I used to be a Sprout customer, I used to say all the time, "It is a lot faster if I just go from network to network and do my community management natively." But the reality is it wasn't faster — it was just what I was used to. It wasn't until I got more familiar with the Smart Inbox that I found myself thinking, "Actually, this is a lot faster." So today I want to help you get more familiar with the Smart Inbox as well. We've got 66 messages, so let's clear some of those out by first removing any sources we don't actively respond to — I'll remove X and some of these brand keywords as well. Under Message Types, I'll remove non-actionable messages like new followers and reposts. We'll also toggle off Show Sent Messages, and I'll leave on completed messages in this case, though you can toggle that on or off depending on your preference — this shows messages completed by you or other team members. From here, we can adjust the time frame. We have Previous 90 Days as the default, but you can choose 7 days or a specific custom time frame. We're now down from 66 messages to 10. There's also another set of filters to determine how you want to view messages in your inbox — such as viewing higher priority messages by sentiment or response classification. I'll go ahead and respond to a message. I can tell no one has responded yet because the icons aren't filled in with blue. Another benefit of the Smart Inbox is collision detection — if a team member were already typing a response, it would show "Ashley is typing," so I'd know to move on to the next message. I've typed my response and written my name. If I want, I can add an emoji, a product link, an image, or use Enhance by AI Assist to make the response longer, more professional, or translate it to another language. Once the response is ready, I'll hit Send. From there, I can choose to complete the message — and you'll be able to see who completed it in the Smart Inbox. I can hover over tags to see which have been added and choose to add or remove them, like a message, or tap the three-dot menu to repost to Facebook, complete the full thread, email, save the message, and more. If I need to take action on more than one message at a time, I can select multiple messages and bulk action on individual selected messages, visible messages, or all messages in the inbox. And to personalize the inbox, you can tap the three dots at the top to make messages larger or enable split pane mode — so instead of opening messages in a new window, they appear on the right-hand side. I hope all of these options help make the Smart Inbox feel more tailored to you and your community management experience a bit more seamless.
