Competitor Posts Report

Use the Competitor Posts Report to analyze all Facebook and Instagram posts from your competitors.

How do I customize the report?

Choose the date range you want to focus on.

Then, choose from the following filters to hone in on the data you want to see:

  • Competitor Sources - choose the Facebook and Instagram profiles you want to see posts for in the report.
  • Content Types - choose content types like video, photo, link, text or choose to include all content types in the report.   

Toggle the view of the report as a list or as individual cards.

Finally, decide to sort the report Ascending or Descending based on the Published Date or Public Engagements of the posts.

What metrics are included?

You see a scorecard for each top performing competitor post. Each card contains a preview of the post and:

  • For Facebook posts:

    • Total number of Public Engagements for the time period you selected
    • Total number of Reactions for the time period you selected
    • Total number of Comments for the time period you selected
    • Total number of Shares for the time period you selected
  • For Instagram posts:

    • Total number of Public Engagements for the time period you selected
    • Total number of Reactions for the time period you selected
    • Total number of Comments for the time period you selected

How do I share the report?

You can either export the report as a CSV or presentation-ready PDF. You can also send the report as a PDF or schedule PDF delivery to share the report with stakeholders on a regular basis.

Note: Whatever view you have selected, either list view or card view, this view is captured in your PDF export.

The columns included in the CSV export are broken down in the following table:

Column Name

Definition

Date

The date the post was published.

Post ID

The identification number of the post.

Network

The network the post was published to.

Post Type

The categorization of the post. 

Content Type

The primary content associated with the post. This can be a video, photo, link, IG carousel or text only post.

Profile

The profile that published the post.

Link

The link to the post.

Post

The text of the post.

Linked Content

Links included within the post.

Public Engagements

Public Engagements is the total number of times users liked, commented, and saved the post and replied to a story during the post's lifetime. This includes organic activity only.

Reactions

Reactions is the number of users who liked or reacted to the post during its lifetime.

Comments

Comments is the number of comments received or sent on the Facebook post or Instagram post. This includes organic activity only.

Shares

Shares is the number of times that users shared the post during the post's lifetime. This includes both organic and paid activity.

 

Are there any additional Premium Analytics features?

If you’re a Premium Analytics customer, you can customize the Sorting Metrics for the Competitor Posts Report.

Click and drag metrics to reorder them and choose to focus in on only Reactions, Shares, Comments or Public Engagements.
