Important Update: Correction to Facebook Reels Reporting

Table of Contents

We've identified an issue where some Facebook Reels in Sprout Social were incorrectly showing 0s in reporting for post-level metrics.

This reporting error, which began in late September, was caused by an unexpected empty data state from Meta's Video Insights API for certain Reels. Because this empty state was treated as an error, it prevented Sprout from proceeding to the next step to pull all other available data, including key metrics like Comments, Shares, and Reactions (which come from a separate API).

What We've Done to Fix It

We've updated our data ingestion process. Now, if the Video Insights API returns an empty state for a Reel, Sprout will ingest all available metrics, including Video Views, using the Post Insights API.

When You'll See the Correct Data

We expect all affected Reels data to be corrected and fully updated in Sprout by Friday, October 31st. Your reporting for these Reels will then accurately reflect all metrics.
