How do I use Customize Post per Network in Compose?

You can add content unique to each social network in the same Compose window. You can customize text, captions, and media, without needing to duplicate the post and slow down your scheduling workflow. You can also schedule each post by network.

Customize posts for different networks

1. Select which networks you want to post to from the profile dropdown. Pick at least two networks to enable the Customize post per network button.
    
2. Create your post using text and emojis.
    
3. (Optional) Add images and video. 
    
4. To customize your post for each network, click below the post.

5. Click the network tab above the draft post to switch between network views.

6. You can edit the text, images and videos for each network to customize the post. For example, you can upload an image or video before customizing per network, and once in customize mode, crop the media in each tab to the optimal dimensions for each network. 

7. Continue scheduling your posts.

To Customize your posts using Generate by AI Assist

1. Click the AI Assist tab in the upper right side of the Compose screen.

2. Select an action from the AI Assist dropdown: 
   • Generate from Existing post (if you already have a post written in the text box)
   • Generate from Top performing posts
   • Generate from Custom Topic
   • Generate from Article

   

3. Depending on your choice, AI Assist will walk you through creating your post for that network. Check out this article for more information on using Generate Posts by AI Assist.
4. When you’re satisfied with the post, click either to insert the post after your current text or to copy your post to your clipboard for later use. 

If you use Generate Posts by AI Assist after clicking Customize post per network the AI generation will only apply to the selected network. If you switch to a different network tab, you can click Generate from existing post to pull in the relevant caption based on the tab you’re focused on.

Scheduling posts

You can schedule each post separately when using Customize post per network. When you are ready to schedule your posts, choose when you want your posts to publish: Immediately, Auto-schedule with Sprout Queue or Specific Days & Times. If you choose Specific Days & Times, you have the option to Schedule by Network.

Toggling ON Schedule by Network provides a separate scheduling slot for each network. You can also schedule each network’s post using Optimal Times.

Things to know/FAQs

1. To ensure your shortened link using dynamic UTM parameters only applies to the appropriate network, make sure to select the Shorten Links button only in customize mode. This'll ensure your bit.ly links will have UTM parameters unique to each of your networks. You can test this by clicking on each bit.ly link in your customized post.
2. When using media: after splitting the post to customize per network, once an image is edited for one network it does not change for the other networks and may need to be re-edited. No content is shared between tabs; each editing experience is unique to the tab.
3. Custom Post Variables: custom post variables aren't supported in customize post per network mode. You can't select or add variables while in customize mode, and if you already have a variable in your copy, it reverts to plain text and no longer works.
