X Premium in Sprout Social

What is X Premium?
Premium is a subscription service offered by X that provides additional features with each subscription tier. This would include longer video uploads and character limits per post.
What can I access in Sprout with X Premium?
- Verification Status Visible: You will see the X verification status (Basic, Premium, or Premium+) displayed next to profiles in the profile picker within Sprout Social's Compose tool.
- Longer character limits: Premium profiles will be able to compose posts in Sprout with up to 25K characers
What are the supported video upload limits in Sprout?
All users (including non-Premium accounts) are able to upload custom thumbnails alongside their videos. Below you will find the current media requirements for video uploads in Sprout for X
- Max 1 video per post
- Max file size: 8GB (including Premium Subscribers)
- Max length: 20 minutes (including Premium Subscribers)
- Supported formats: MP4, MOV
- Resolution: 1280×720 pixels (landscape), 720×1280 pixels (portrait), 720×720 pixels (square)
- Aspect ratio: 16:9 (landscape or portrait), 1:1 (square)
- Frame rate: 30 or 60 fps
How does Premium differ from Pro Media?
X updated their API and Sprout retired support for Pro Media accounts at the end of January 2026. The Pro Media account type previously offered options to upload media to the X Media Library and include a video title.
With the deprecation of Pro Media and migration to X's updated API, we are now able to offer larger video uploads to all X profile types within Sprout.
