To allow users to create shared links:
- Go to Settings in the left navigation bar.
- Click Account Settings.
- Under Sharing Settings, toggle on Enable Link Sharing.
- Choose how your team can share links: Invite-Only or Invite-Only and Public.
Invite-Only means that only recipients you specify can access the link. The recipients you specify can then access the content from a link they receive in an email, or a link you provide them with directly.
Invite-Only and Public means that anyone who clicks the link can view the content.
Only Account Owners can enable or disable this setting.

FAQs
Who can use Link Sharing in Sprout Social?
Link Sharing availability depends on your plan and add-ons. See the Link Sharing Availability by Feature and Plan table above for details.
Can I share reports with people who don’t have access to a Sprout account?
Yes. Anyone with a public shared link can view the report without needing a Sprout account. For invite-only links, recipients must authenticate to access the content.
Last month there was a shareable link to one of my reports and now I can't find it. What do I do?
If Link Expiration has been enabled for the shareable link, you might not be able to find it. Otherwise, if Link Expiration has not been enabled, you should be able to click the three dots (More options) icon on the right side menu from anywhere in the Sprout Social app and select Shared Links. If you don’t see Shared Links, contact your Account Owner to have it enabled for your user.
I shared a link to a custom report, but the link recipients are not receiving the most updated version of the report. How do I fix this?
It's likely that when the report was set up, the date range selected was static (from a specific start date to a given end date). To fix this, you will need to set a dynamic date for the report (e.g. previous week, last month) and generate a new sharable link. Then share the new link with your recipients and archive the older one.
How do I make a shared link public or invite-only?
When creating or editing a shared link, click the blue Share button in the sharing modal. From there, select the visibility setting. You can update this anytime before sharing.
Can I set an expiration date for a shared link?
Yes, you can set an expiration dnate when creating or editing a shared link. This automatically disables the link after the specified date. You’ll find this option in the sharing modal.
Where can I easily manage my shared links?
You can manage your shared links through the Shared Links drawer, accessible by clicking the three dots (More options) menu on the right side menu in Sprout Social. From there, you can view, edit, revoke access, or delete your active shared links.
Why can’t I create a shared link for the Calendar?
You can’t create a shared link if Link Sharing isn’t enabled by your Account Owner. Also, link sharing isn’t supported in some calendar views, specifically the Expanded Week and Month Views. Make sure you’re in a supported view and Link Sharing is enabled.
Why is Link Sharing not available?
Link Sharing may not be available because your user role, plan, or add-ons do not include this feature, or because it has not been enabled by your Account Owner. To resolve this:
- Confirm your current plan and add-ons support Link Sharing (see the availability table).
- Contact your Account Owner to ensure Link Sharing is enabled.
How can I ensure Link Sharing is enabled?
Ask your Account Owner to verify settings under Account Settings > Sharing Settings.
Why is the Shared Link showing other data than what it was initially set up to show?
Shared links reflect the filters and settings applied when the link was created. Changes made afterward won’t update existing links.
Why is the data in the shared link not updating?
By default, shared links show a static snapshot of the data at creation time. To get updated data automatically, enable the Dynamic Date Range option when creating or editing the shared link. This makes the shared link update daily based on today’s date.
What happens if someone tries to access an expired or deleted shared link?
Recipients who try to use a revoked, deleted, or expired shared link will see an error message indicating the link is no longer valid and cannot be accessed.
