Using Smart Categories in Social Listening

Smart Categories automatically group nouns within your Listening Topics into categories like Person, Place, and Product, revealing the core conversation drivers. The Smart Categories widget delivers intuitive visualizations, including bubble and bar charts. These visualizations empower you to quickly identify trends and patterns, eliminating the need for complex numerical interpretations. You can now glean insights from your data more effectively through customizable views and easy access to key metrics. If you prefer detailed data exploration, you can still access the table view and CSV export options.

To view the Smart Categories widget:

  1. Navigate to the Listening topic you want to view insights for.
  2. Select the Conversation tab on the Topic Insights menu.
  1. Scroll down to the Smart Categories widget.
  2. Use the dropdown to view topic data for Volume, Engagements, Potential Impressions, Likes, Shares or Comments.
  3. Use the Smart Categories dropdown to filter by type of category you want to view. You can also toggle ON including query keywords.
