Understanding Sprout Social billing frequencies

At Sprout Social, we offer flexible billing options to accommodate your needs, whether you prefer to pay monthly, yearly‌ or through a custom billing arrangement. This article walks you through the available billing frequencies and how to change your billing cycle.

Billing Frequencies

Sprout provides three billing frequency options:

  1. Monthly: Payments are made every month. This is ideal if you prefer to spread costs evenly throughout the year.
  2. Yearly: Payments are made once a year. This option allows you to manage your subscription in one annual payment, often with cost-saving benefits.
  3. Custom: In some cases, specific billing arrangements can be made based on your agreement with Sprout.

How to change your billing frequency

If you’d like to adjust your billing cycle—from monthly to annually, annually to monthly, or if you want to discuss custom billing arrangements—we’re here to help!

Monthly to Annual

If you’re on a rack-rate plan or a custom plan with no premium add-ons (e.g., Listening, Premium Analytics, Employee Advocacy‌ or Tagger) and are currently an in-app payer, you can switch to annual billing directly in your account:

  1. Go to Account and Settings > Billing & Plan.
  2. Under Subscription Details, select View Plans (in blue) next to "Interested in Annual Payments?"
  3. Click Pay Annually > Confirm.

If you're an in-app payer on a rack-rate legacy plan, our billing self-service prompts you to upgrade to a modern plan in order to switch to an annual billing frequency. If the upgrade option doesn’t meet your needs, please contact your Customer Success Manager or email us at successteam@sproutsocial.com for assistance.

Annual to Monthly or Custom Billing Arrangements

Switching from annual to monthly billing or setting up a custom billing frequency isn’t available as a self-service option. To discuss these options, please contact your Customer Success Manager or email successteam@sproutsocial.com, and we’ll check the best options available for your account.
