Google has announced they are deprecating Google Business Messages on July 31st and agent and location verifications are no longer available as of May 22nd.
What does that mean for me?
You’ll no longer receive Google Business Messages in your Smart Inbox, and you won’t be able to create new agent profiles or add locations to existing profiles in Sprout due to this deprecation by Google.
Do these changes only impact Sprout Social?
No, these changes impact all Google Business Messages users.
Important Dates
May 22nd: Agent and location verifications are no longer available
July 1st: Brand new conversations will no longer be received in Google Business Messages, though you can continue existing conversations
July 15th: You’ll stop receiving any messages from existing conversations
July 26th: The integration will no longer be Supported in Sprout
July 31st: The API service will be discontinued altogether by Google
