How do I use Recommend by AI Assist?

Recommend by AI Assist uses Sprout Social's integration with OpenAI to generate keyword suggestions for Listening queries making your queries more precise and providing even richer insights to power your social strategy.

How do I enable OpenAI?

You need to enable the OpenAI integration to use this feature. You must be an Account Owner to enable this.

To enable the integration:

1. Navigate to Settings > Account Settings.
2. Select Enable OpenAI Integration.

How do I use Recommend by AI Assist once it's turned on?

To use Recommend by AI Assist:

1. Navigate to Listening.
2. Select a Listening template. You can also edit an existing Topic.
3. Enter your Topic title and description and select your sources.
4. Enter a keyword you want to include in the Included keywords box. Suggested keywords appear.
5. Select a keyword to add it to your query.
   

Recommend by AI Assist is also available in Listening Themes. To use Recommend by AI Assist for Themes in your Listening Query:

1. Navigate to the Themes section in the Query Builder.
2. Click Add New Theme.
3. Enter your Theme name.
4. Click the Enter keywords here field. Recommend by AI Assist automatically generates up to five keywords based on the Theme title. If you enter keywords, Recommend by AI Assist suggests additional words or phrases.
5. Click a suggested keyword to add it to your Theme.

Can I turn off Recommend by AI Assist?

Yes. If you want to turn off Queries by AI Assist as you're building out a Listening Query, but don't want to toggle all OpenAI features, you can do this directly on the Query Builder.

Note that this option turns on/off all Queries by AI Assist suggestions. It doesn't control just Inclusion/Exclusion or just Theme suggestions.

To turn off Queries by AI Assist:

1. Navigate to Query Builder.
   
   
2. Click the Assist icon next to the Preview Topic button. This turns off suggestions for Inclusions/Exclusions and Themes while you build your Query.
   • If you don't see the Assist icon this means that Recommend by AI Assist was toggled off by an Account Owner in Settings.

If you want to turn Recommend by AI Assist back on, click the Assist icon again.
