Contact Profile Views

Contact Profile Views are unique to Sprout Social, providing a window into users' activity on social media. From this view, you can reply, add custom contact information, notes and even see message history between you and your customer.

The following networks support Contact Profile Views in Sprout:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram

To get started, simply click on a user's avatar. The Contact Profile View will pop up.

Twitter

In the right panel, Sprout displays bio information coming in directly from Twitter to provide additional context about the person you're responding to.

When you click to expand Contact Info, you and your team are able to add pertinent information about a user.

If you scroll down past Contact Info, you will see Follow Status between the user and your connected Twitter accounts. You are also able to follow or unfollow a user from here.

Beneath Follow Status, you can see which of your public and private Twitter Lists the user has been added to. From here, you can add the user to an existing list or create a new list to add them to.

Note: Users will not know they have been added to a private Twitter List.

If you'd like to provide your team with additional information about a user, simply click the notepad icon to the left of the user's avatar within Contact Profile View. Added Notes will appear in yellow within the History section of the left navigation bar.

If you have a direct message history with a user, you can isolate those messages from the left navigation bar. From here, you'll have access to their Tweets, messages that contain Mentions of their username, their Followers and the Twitter users they're Following.

Facebook

When you click on a Facebook user's avatar in the Smart Inbox, a window opens to display history.

Similar to Twitter Contact Profile Views, you and your team can add pertinent information about a user under Contact Info. You also have the ability to click on the notepad icon to add additional context.

If you have a private message history with a user, you can isolate those messages from the left navigation bar.

Keep in mind that a user's interaction history with Facebook is displayed on the Page level—meaning that when you click on a user's avatar to see their history, you only see their history with your Page and not their history across every Page. This is due to limitations in Facebook's API designed to protect the identify of their users.

LinkedIn

When you click on a LinkedIn user's avatar in the Smart Inbox, a window opens to display history.

Instagram

When you click on an Instagram user's avatar in the Smart Inbox, a window opens to display History.

Similar to Twitter Contact Profile Views, you and your team can add pertinent information about a user under Contact Info. Beneath Contact Info, you have the ability to click on the notepad icon to add additional context.

Note: History between you and a user goes back 90 days on the Standard plan. Users on Professional and Advanced get history as far back as 2010. Due to API limitations, Instagram avatars do not display and profiles will display as Private regardless of actual status. Click on the Instagram handle to be taken to that profile natively.
