Contact Profile Views

Contact Profile Views are unique to Sprout Social, providing a window into users' activity on social media. From this view, you can reply, add custom contact information, notes and even see message history between you and your customer.

The following networks support Contact Profile Views in Sprout:

  • X
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram

To get started, click on a user's avatar. The Contact Profile View appears.

X

In the right panel, Sprout shows bio information coming in directly from X to provide additional context about the person you're responding to.

When you click to expand Contact Info, you and your team can add pertinent information about a user.

If you scroll down past Contact Info, you see Follow Status between the user and your connected X accounts. You can also follow or unfollow a user from here.

Beneath Follow Status, you can see which of your public and private X Lists the user was added to. You can add the user to an existing list or create a new list to add them to.

Note: Users don't know they were added to a private X List.

If you' want to provide your team with additional information about a user, click the notepad icon to the left of the user's avatar within the Contact Profile View. Added Notes appear in yellow within the History section of the left navigation bar.

If you have a direct message history with a user, you can isolate those messages from the left navigation bar.

Facebook

When you click on a Facebook user's avatar in the Smart Inbox, a window opens to display history.

Similar to Twitter Contact Profile Views, you and your team can add pertinent information about a user under Contact Info. You can also click the notepad icon to add additional context.

If you have a private message history with a user, you can isolate those messages from the left navigation bar.

Keep in mind that a user's interaction history with Facebook appears on the Page level—meaning that when you click on a user's avatar to see their history, you only see their history with your Page and not their history across every Page. This is due to limitations in Facebook's API designed to protect the identify of their users.

LinkedIn

When you click on a LinkedIn user's avatar in the Smart Inbox, a window opens to display history.

Similar to Twitter Contact Profile Views, you and your team can add pertinent information about a user under Contact Info. You can also click the notepad icon to add additional context.

Instagram

When you click on an Instagram user's avatar in the Smart Inbox, a window opens to display History.

Similar to Twitter Contact Profile Views, you and your team can add pertinent information about a user under Contact Info. Beneath Contact Info, you can also click the notepad icon to add additional context.

Note: History between you and a user goes back 90 days on the Standard plan. Users on Professional and Advanced get history as far back as 2010. Due to API limitations, Instagram avatars don't display and profiles display as Private regardless of actual status. Click the Instagram profile to navigate to it natively.
