Influencer Marketing: How can I search for Creators?
Table of Contents
Whether you’re sourcing talent for a niche campaign or broadening your Creator network, you can find high-fit creators with confidence using natural language search.
Creator Search is powered by semantic search, which means the search bar understands the context and meaning behind your search, so you don’t need to worry about guessing the exact terms Creators use. You can search directly from the Home screen or click Search on the left navigation.
Instead of entering generic keywords, you can describe what you’re looking for in every day language like:
- Plant-based recipes for beginners
- Luxury skincare reviews
- Snowboarding
- Family car adventures
- Productivity in modern workplace
You’ll receive search results based on themes and topics creators talk about in their post captions, even if those exact phrases don’t appear. This means you can find creators with niche interests or overlapping relevance you might’ve missed with standard search filters.
Some examples you might see for search results include:
Example 1: Searching for “mountain skiing” may also surface creators who talk about snowboarding, alpine resorts, or other winter sports.
Example 2: Searching for “natural skincare” may also surface creators who talk about organic cosmetics, aesthetic dermatology, or a holistic approach to beauty.
Example 3: Searching for “healthy drinks” may also surface creators who talk about smoothies, herbal teas, or functional beverages.
The more relevant a creator's content is to your search criteria, the higher they appear in your results.
When you find a creator you want to explore or collaborate with, click Save to save that creator to a Creator List. Lists help you track potential creators, group creators by campaign or region, and share selections with your teammates. You can save creators from any search result, profile, or suggestion to an existing list or make a new list by clicking + New Creator List.
In Creator Profiles and Lists, you can find AI-powered suggestions for Creators that are similar based on things like content or audience. These suggestions make it easy to broaden your search and can surface hidden gems you might’ve missed. These suggestions are especially helpful for finding a Creator that talks about more broad topics like lifestyle, pop culture, or emerging trends.
What are best practices to use for Creator Search?
While the natural language search is great for looking at context, you can get even better results by using the following best practices:
- Be specific - the more focused your search prompt, the better the results. So instead of searching for “beauty” search for “K-beauty skincare routine for oily skin.”
- Explore variations - rephrase your search. “Vegan baking tutorials” might return different results than “plant-based dessert recipes.”
- Use filters - Influencer Marketing provides benchmark-based filters to help narrow your search results.
- Start broad - start with a general idea like eco-friendly fashion, then refine using filters and Search Suggestions.
- Use Similar Creators - when you find a strong match, scroll to the bottom of the creator’s profile to see others with similar themes and audiences.
- Combine filters and search - enhance your search by combining filters and search by searching for “vegan fitness” + filter by platform (TikTok) + filter by location (UK).
What are Search Suggestions?
Search Suggestions help guide and refine your search and automatically appear as you enter your search criteria. These suggestions are based on real content themes and help you discover common or trending creator topics, avoid guesswork, and explore adjacent areas of interest.
Click on a Search Suggestion to instantly run a search using the term highlighted. Search Suggestions are especially helpful when you’re exploring new niches or are conducting early-stage campaign research.
How can I refine my results with Filters?
In addition to the natural language search, you can also use Filters to further refine your results. Filters are benchmark-based and optimized to highlight high-performing creators.
Choose from the following filters:
- Platform - quickly choose one or more platforms, like Instagram or TikTok, to narrow your results to creators with a presence where you plan to activate.
- Followers - a visual scale to select creator size (micro, mid, macro). If a platform is already selected, the size is filtered specifically for that platform.
- Creator Location - look for creators based in a specific country, region, or city.
- Audience Location - find creators whose followers are primarily located in a specific area.
- Audience Age - find creators whose audience is primarily within a specific age range.
Bench-mark Based filters are preset filters that highlight creators based on proven performance indicators including:
- Fastest Growing - shows creators with the highest follower growth.
- Engagement Leaders - shows creators with the highest engagement rates.
- Brand-Safe Creators - shows creators who comply with your custom Brand Safety rules.
- Registered Creators - shows only creators who are registered in the Creator Hub.
- Exclude from Campaigns - hides creators who are already added to your Campaigns.
- Exclude from Lists - hides creators who are already added to your saved Creator Lists.
- Show Brands - shows only Brand Profiles.
These one-click filters help you discover top performers, expand your network, and avoid duplicates.
