Influencer Marketing: How is data collected?

Table of Contents

To collect and analyze data, Sprout Social Influencer Marketing integrates with supported platforms via an Application Programming Interface (API). An API is a software intermediary that allows two applications to communicate and Influencer Marketing pulls data via a public API from different social platforms. “Public data” refers to the data obtained via these public APIs.

For example: When a creator opts in or signs into Influencer Marketing and grants permissions for their Instagram account, additional metrics like reach, impressions and story data from their Instagram Business Account become available. First-party data is only available for content featured in campaigns run on the Influencer Marketing platform. Including this data in campaign reports helps users measure campaign performance, estimate promotion-driven product purchases and evaluate campaign ROI.

Influencer Marketing only collects and displays data that is publicly visible on a creator’s online social profile or page and fully complies with all applicable Terms of Service and Privacy Policies for each social platform.
