Influencer Marketing: How do I use the Paid Media integration?

Table of Contents

The paid media reporting integration creates a holistic view of your campaigns so you can see influencer post metrics alongside paid media ads.

Permissions needed to connect an ad account

To connect an ad account, an organization admin must have access to the relevant Facebook Ad Account(s). Meta Business Manager administrators can grant access on an individual basis and Influencer Marketing admins only need View performance access.

With view performance access, admins can see the paid media post and content performance reports. Anyone else who gets view access to the reports won’t be able to change or run ads from the ad account.

After securing the right account permissions, the organization admin can connect their Meta Ad Account(s) with Influencer Marketing via the Organization Settings.

Connecting an ad account

To connect a Meta ad account:

1. Select the User Icon in the navigation bar and click Integrations.

2. Click Meta Advertising.

3. Click Add Ad Account.

4. Confirm account ownership.

6. Select the ad account(s) you want to connect to Influencer Marketing and click Confirm.

Paid media tokens expire after 60 days. Seven days before expiring, whoever connected Influencer Marketing with your Meta Ad account will receive an expiration notification. To ensure no interruptions, the organization admin needs to verify account ownership to refresh the token.

Adding paid media posts to a campaign summary

To add paid media posts to the campaign summary:

1. Navigate to the Summary tab in your campaign.

2. Click Add Content in the upper-right corner.

3. Click Paid Media Ad and search for the creator or brand by typing in their name or handle.

You can attach ads associated with creators or brands in the campaign summary. Select a creator’s profile to add a boosted post to the campaign summary or select a brand profile to add a post promoted by the brand’s handle.

If there are a lot of ads in the account, use Influencer Marketing’s sort and filter solutions to find the relevant ads. You can also add publication date ranges to search for particular accounts, campaigns or ad sets. Use the search box to look for the name of the ad within the ad account or the copy used in the ad itself.

You can also add dark posts or ads that show up in the newsfeeds of specific user sets using the same method. Once you find the ad you want, click the content card to view more information about that specific post.

Click Ad Details to see the post’s ad metrics including:

  • Ad Name
  • Ad Set
  • Ad Campaign
  • Account Name

To add multiple posts to the campaign summary, use the multi-select box in the upper-left of the content thumbnail and click Add. If you’re adding multiple rounds of paid media ads to a campaign summary, click Add Another to navigate back to this page instead of the summary.

Ads will appear in the content section toward the bottom of the campaign summary. To distinguish ads from other influencer posts, you’ll see a small $ symbol in the content card.

If you use mixed placement to promote ads across Facebook and Instagram, for example, you'll see the ad twice in the content section with the corresponding platform logo next to the paid media indicator. This allows you to visualize performance across all of the platforms you promoted your ads.
