What are the components of a Signals Report?
Signals Reports are comprised of Components that visualize data in unique ways to help users pull actionable insights relative to their search. The standard Signals Report utilizes all of the Components Signals has to offer, giving users insights into different key metrics such as the number of posts to more specific performance metrics like Engagement Rate by Platform/Content Type.
This article contains the following sections:
You can add, edit, move, duplicate, and delete Components within Reports. 10 different components let you change how the data is shown. You can also fully customize and change the data to find what insights are most important.
Add, Edit, Move, Duplicate, and Delete Components
To add a new Component to your Report, select the Add Component button toward the top right of your screen.
After selecting one of the 10 available components, the configuration screen (similar to a pivot table editor) appears, allowing you to customize your Component and layer data however you wish.
You can also rename Components within this screen by clicking on the title.
Component configuration
All Components are configured similarly to pivot tables, using rows, columns, and values. Depending on which Component you select, you'll see some or all of the below options, which can be used to build the Component.
-
Rows
-
Select the main attribute(s) to compare in the Component.
-
For example, to compare the performance of posts by Platform, select Platform.
-
-
Columns
-
Select a column attribute if to slice the attribute you selected in "Row" by an additional dimension.
-
For example, if you selected Platform for Row and Post Type for Column, you'll visualize the Platform performance compared against the two Post Types, "Sponsored" and "Organic".
-
-
Values
-
Select the values you want to visualize in the table. In the above example, Values are 'Count of Profiles,' 'Count of Posts,' and 'Engagement Rate.'
-
For some values, you can choose how they're calculated, whether it is by sum, median, average, etc.
-
-
Sorts
-
Choose how you want to sort the data in the Component. For example, sort by Engagement Rate descending.
-
-
Number of Results
-
Input the total number of results to be displayed by the Component.
-
-
Results Per Page
-
Input the number of results to be displayed on each Component page.
-
-
Show Table
-
For some of the chart Components, you can add a Table underneath the chart itself. This is entirely optional and controlled by this toggle.
-
-
Filters
-
Use Component-specific filters to hone in on more specific learnings. Adding a filter while configuring a Component comes in handy if you don't want to add a Filter to the whole Report or Section but just to a specific subset of data.
-
For example, if you only want to visualize brand data for Instagram in a specific Component, you can use these filters to do that.
-
Save the Component at any time to see how the data is displayed. The new component populates at the bottom of the current Section. Make edits to the Component by hovering over the Component, clicking the ellipse (three dots), and selecting Edit, which brings you back to the Component Configuration Screen.
This menu can also be used to duplicate or remove Components.
