Influencer Marketing: How do I use Boolean logic for queries?
Table of Contents
Boolean logic uses three basic words called operators to refine search results by combining or excluding keywords. The three operators you can use are OR, AND and NOT.
"OR" Logic
Using OR logic pulls in content that incorporates one or more hashtags, keywords or phrases into the campaign monitoring section.
For example: To fulfill the search parameter below, the creator’s campaign content should include the hashtag #budweiser, brand mention @budweiser or the keyword “golden retriever” in order to get pulled into the campaign summary.
"AND" Logic
Queries that use AND logic will only pull in content that meets all of the conditions in the search.
To use AND logic, click + Add Row for “And” Logic and add the desired keywords, hashtags and phrases.
For example: To fulfil the search parameters below, a creator’s campaign content must use the hashtag #beer in addition to either #budweiser, @budweiser or the phrase “golden retriever”.
"AND NOT" Logic
To exclude certain hashtags, keywords and phrases from a search query, use AND NOT logic to pull content into the campaign summary.
To use AND NOT logic:
- Click +Add Row for "And Logic".
- Select And Not from the drop down menu.
- Add the hashtags, keywords and phrases you want to exclude from your search.
For example: If you have two campaigns that run during the same date range but you want to keep the content separate, you can use AND NOT logic. In this example, the search only pulls content in using #budweiser, @budwesier or “golden retriever” and excludes any content that contains the hashtag #beer.
