How do I use Boolean Logic for queries?
Boolean Logic uses three basic words called Boolean Operators: Or, And, and Not.
"OR" Logic
Within Campaign Details, OR logic means adding one or more hashtags, keywords or phrases to this section. Once this happens, the post is considered qualified and pulled into the Campaign Summary.
For example, Creators within this Campaign should use either " #sproutsocial " or " #sproutpartner " in their content.
"AND" Logic
AND logic means that ALL conditions must be met for a query to be true.
To utilize AND logic, select "Add Row for 'And' Logic" and type in the desired keywords, hashtags and phrases.
For example, Creators in this Campaign must use " #ad " in conjunction with either " #sproutsocial " or " #sproutpartner ." When a Campaign gets set up like this, Sprout Social Influencer Marketing only looks for " #ad " when used in combination with " #sproutpartner " or " #sproutsocial" in a Campaign Creators post.
"AND NOT" Logic
AND NOT logic excludes specific hashtags, keywords and phrases from any content pulled into the Campaign Summary.
To use AND NOT logic:
- Click +Add Row for "And Logic".
- Select And Not from the drop down.
- Enter the hashtags, keywords and phrases you want to exclude from your data.
In the following example, there are two Campaigns that run through the exact dates. When it's essential to keep the content separate, you can set up two different sets of hashtags, keywords and phrases for each Campaign. The first Campaign, displayed below, is set to pull in content that utilizes " #sproutpartner ," while the second pulls in content that uses "#sproutinfluencer ."
Click Save when finished setting up your campaign logic.
