Lift by Sprout Social FAQs

How does Lift by Sprout Social work?

The Tweets that Lift by Sprout Social promotes will become ads and appear with the small "promoted" badge — just like all other Promoted Tweets.

But the creation of these is automated. You simply promote your brand as you normally do — Tweeting updates, links, and media that you want your target audience to see. Lift does the rest.

When Lift is enabled, up to your first ten Tweets each day (that pass Twitter's quality filter) will be put into a Promoted Tweets campaign that targets your selected audience. Not every Tweet that is added to your Promoted Tweet campaign will serve an impression, and the extent each Tweet is promoted may vary based on that Tweet’s performance.

Your Retweets, Quote Tweets, or replies will not be promoted. Lift will also run a Promoted Account campaign which will attract new followers.

On average, accounts will reach 30,000 additional people and add 30 followers each month. Performance may vary based on factors including your account type, your targeting selection, and the type and frequency of your Tweets.

Can I choose which Tweets to promote?

Not at this time; however, each day up to your first ten Tweets will be put into a campaign that targets your selected audience. Not every Tweet that is added to your campaign will serve an impression, and the extent each Tweet is promoted may vary based on that Tweet’s performance. Retweets, Quote Tweets, or replies will not be promoted. Learn more here.

What stats are included in the Lift Report?

The Lift Report will allow you to see the following stats:
  • Lift Followers Gained
  • Lift Impressions
  • Lift Engagements

Furthermore, for Impressions and Engagements, you will be able to discern between the number generated organically, and the number driven by Tweets promoted using Lift.

How is eligibility determined?

Tweets that adhere to Twitter’s Quality Policy and Ads Policy will be eligible for promotion. Accounts that promote prohibited or restricted goods or services, as identified by Twitter’s Ads Policies, are not eligible to participate in this program.
